The WIP Wing Board Leash Dampener is a leash shock absorber for wing-foil boards. A safety accessory that bolts between your board's plug and the leash: when you bail and the board rips on the leash hard, the dampener eats some of that impact shock instead of slamming straight into your ankle or board plug.

Construction. Section of high-strength elastomer with controlled stretch. Connectors on both ends fit the standard board plug and WIP leash hookup. Short length (roughly 15-20cm) slips into your existing setup without major lengthening. Stands up to saltwater, UV, and repeated stretch cycles.

In the water. Without a dampener, when a leash snaps taut at speed in a foil wipeout, the shock can: crack or rip the board's leash plug, send a painful jolt up your leg, or thrash the leash itself. The dampener absorbs that spike and converts it to a smooth ramp-up. Especially crucial in foil where wipeout speeds are higher than standard SUP.
