The WIP Surf Cap Bump Shell is a lightweight helmet from WIP designed for surf and wave riding. Same philosophy as the Cool Cap Bump Shell — technical cap look with protective bump shell interior — but with a surf-oriented profile: tighter cut to minimize resistance in duck dives and on waves, short visor that doesn't interfere with vision.

Construction. Bump shell casing of light polymer integrated under water-resistant exterior fabric. Low profile for surf and wing-foil on waves. Velcro strap at back. Optional chin strap to secure in heavy swell conditions. Compatible with water glasses for intense splash days.

In the water. For surfing at reef breaks or rocky bottom, or on crowded days with many surfers, adding basic head protection makes sense. Also recommended for wing-foil in wave conditions where falls can be more violent. The bump shell provides real protection against direct hits to the board or rocky bottom — without the heat or discomfort of a full helmet.
