Starboard Monolithic carbon C400

The Starboard Monolithic carbon C400 is a rigid SUP board by Starboard. Rigid boards have clear advantages over inflatables: superior rigidity (more speed, better tracking), better feel in waves or technical conditions, proven durability. The trade-off: they need storage space and transport logistics.

When to choose rigid vs inflatable:

• Rigid: you live in a house with garage/yard, you travel by car with a roof rack, you prioritize performance.
• Inflatable: you live in an apartment, you travel by plane, you need portability.

Typical constructions:

• EPS + glass (entry-level): light and affordable.
• Sandwich with wood (mid-range): more rigid, better value for money.
• Carbon Sandwich (premium): the most rigid and light, for racing and advanced.

How we recommend it at El Niño Mallorca. If you have a garage and travel by car with a roof rack, a rigid is always superior. For use in waves or competition, no question.
