The WIP Gloves are technical gloves for windsurfing, wing-foil, and kitesurfing. Reinforced grip palm for boom/bar, breathable back, velcro wrist closure. They protect hands from blisters and abrasions in long sessions of constant grip.
The WIP Gloves are technical gloves from WIP for water sports: windsurfing, wing-foil, and kitesurfing. Prolonged contact with the windsurf boom, kite bar, or wing handle causes blisters and abrasions — gloves are the direct solution to this common problem in active riders.
Construction. Reinforced palm in synthetic leather or high-grip fabric for secure grip on boom and bar. Breathable and quick-dry back fabric for comfort in long sessions. Flat seams in contact areas to prevent chafing under grip. Velcro wrist closure for secure fit. Cut that maintains tactile sensitivity to handle safety systems (bar, chicken loop, wing strap).
In the water. Essential for long sessions and riders with sensitive skin. On strong wind days with constant boom grip, blisters appear after 1-2 hours without gloves. In winter, they add an extra layer of warmth to hands although they are not neoprene — for low water temperatures there are specific neoprene hand gloves in the catalog. For beginners, they protect while grip develops.
WIP Gloves — how we see them at El Niño Mallorca. For anyone doing more than 2-3 windsurfing or wing sessions per week, gloves eventually become essential. In summer, thin grip gloves are comfortable and lightweight. In winter (below 16°C water), combine them with hand neoprene. If you're unsure about size, measure your palm circumference and message us — we'll get your size right.
