The Billabong Absolute ST Boot 5mm is a neoprene bootie from Billabong's Absolute range with split toe construction (big toe separated from the rest), designed for cold winter and riders who need to feel the board under their feet.

Construction. Absolute neoprene at 5 mm with sealed seams and high collar fit to minimize ankle water entry. Sole is vulcanized rubber with lugs, giving grip on wet rock, wet dock and launch platforms. Split toe separation improves board feel and foot control on the board.

On the water. 5 mm thickness targets water below 15 ºC, conditions like Tramuntana wind or extended sessions in January-February. Split toe construction is especially useful in foiling and wing-foil because it lets you grip the strap laterally and sense foot position — something a full-toe bootie doesn't allow the same way.

How we see it at El Niño Mallorca. If you're foiling in winter from Pollença or S'Albufera, this is the bootie that keeps feet warm without losing board feel. For shoulder seasons a 3 mm is overkill.
