AK Trek LA 2026
The AK Trek LA 2026 is AK's Low Aspect hydrofoil, designed for foil progression and freestyle freeride. Carbon Fusion monoblock, TaperLock system, 3 front wing sizes (1100 / 1400 / 1900 cm²) and fuselage lengths of 26.5 / 31.5 / 36.5 cm. The easiest to get flying and most forgiving option.
The AK Trek LA 2026 is AK's Low Aspect (LA) hydrofoil, with a fiberglass front wing and Carbon Fusion monoblock structure. The Trek line sacrifices some glide versus High Aspect foils (like Plasma) in exchange for a more affordable, easier-to-lift, very stable-at-speed foil. Designed for first flights and riders progressing through foiling.
Technology. Carbon Fusion monoblock construction: fuselage and mast connection in a single carbon block, rigid with no play. TaperLock system for front wing connection—the same as the Tracer and Plasma range, allowing you to upgrade wings later without changing the rest of the foil. Rear fuselage available in three lengths: 26.5 cm (more maneuverable, short-cadence pumping), 31.5 cm (balanced, the most-recommended option), and 36.5 cm (more pitch stability, ideal for pure progression).
On the water. The LA profile delivers smooth, predictable lift: it doesn't launch hard when you catch extra wind, making it very forgiving. Compatible with wing, kite, surf foil, and SUP foil.
| Front Wing | Recommended use |
|---|---|
| 1100 cm² | Lightweight riders or advanced, freeride after first flights |
| 1400 cm² | Versatile. The most-recommended size for adult progression |
| 1900 cm² | Heavier riders, light wind, very comfortable first foil |
AK Trek LA 2026 — how we see it at El Niño Mallorca. The 1400 cm² with 31.5 cm fuselage is the go-to starting point we recommend for an adult 70–85 kg new to foiling. Once you're flying comfortably, the Trek front wing can be sold and you can step up straight to the Tracer (MA) or Plasma (HA) without changing mast or fuselage.
